The cephalopod class of mollusks, particularly the cuttlefish, squid, and octopuses, are thought to be the most intelligent invertebrates, and an important example of advanced cognitive evolution in animals. Tintenfisch is the German word for octopus, the plural of which is octopodes, or casually, octopuses – not octopi – as it is Greek in origin, not Latin.
So why not adopt an octopus!
